Saturday 11th February 2012, 2 - 5 pm

Choral Training Workshop held on 11th February, 2012, 2 - 5 pm in St. Andrew's, South Church, Bishop Auckland, lead by Paul Hale (Southwell Minster).

This open-to-all workshop event was a great succcess and, not unexpectedly, a most enjoyable afternoon, given Paul's great skills as a choir trainer and communicator.
Organists/Choir Leaders brought their choirs along as a groups, joining individual singers who enrolled on their own initiative.
The Andreas Ensemble served as a core of singers and sang some illustrations, but the workshop was for everybody to enjoy singing together under Paul's expert direction.
Paul's own words give the flavour:
"Come and Sing the Psalms with Paul Hale. Refresh your Anglican chant, take a peek at the world of plainchant, and bring new life to sublime settings of psalm texts by Howells and Palestrina. Paul is passionate about the psalms and aims to infuse the afternoon's singers with a similar delight for their power and their beauty". Download a Poster with full details of this event and how to enrol

Some 120 choral singers and directors from all over the region enrolled for this workshop.
